The BrainPoP Experience

The Covid-19 pandemic hurled many teachers in the Caribbean who were accustomed to "chalk and talk" form of teaching or being "the sage on the stage" into serious disequilibrium when they were forced into online teaching with little to no form of training. Google Suites educational platform which includes the famous Google Classroom and Google Meets were the platforms of recommended use for most educational institutions. Nearpod, Liveworksheets, Twinkl and Peardeck to name a few were the stars of the show; however there are so many other academic sites that are better in my professional and personal opinion. I have had the privilege of being able to explore and use BrainPoP and this by far is my favourite.

For those of you who have never heard of BrainPop take a couple mins to watch this introduction video. I am sure it's going to make your BrainPoP like it did mine! Definitely in a good way! You are going to ask where has this academic website been all my teaching career.

  1. Wow! I had never heard of this platform before, while watching the clip my daughter walked by and said "That looks like fun". This blog was very insightful and I will be trying it out with my younger students as the cost seems reasonable to for the use.

  2. I have seen Brain Pop pop up during my frequent YouTube search for educational content. However, I had no idea that there was an associated Academic Website which offers so many options re educational content. I am intrigued and will be exploring their offerings. This blog exposes the reader to an alternative to the more popular academic websites and I appreciate the thorough evaluation completed by my colleague Dominique.
